Self-Introduction

Hello! My dear teacher and classmates! My name is …. And my English name is Alex, A-L-E-X. Besides, I’m a freshman majoring in civil engineering, the courses of which include (Engineering Drawing)工程制图, (College physics)大学物理, (Engineering Chemistry)工程化学, (Structural mechanics)结构力学, (Material Mechanics)材料力学, (Gemechanics) 岩土力学, (Fluid Mechanics) 流体力学. All of them have something to do with building houses. So after graduating, maybe I can be an architect to design a building for you. That is my dream.

I like my English name and I believe that having an English name gives me much convenience in communication. To be frank, I don’t know why I am so devoted to it. I just feel easy and comfortable when I speak English, read in English and write in English. I’m happy to make use of every way to learn English. When reading a book, I’d like to read the English version. When seeing a film, I’d like to listen to the actor speaking in English. I prefer to listen to the English radio and English songs, even though sometimes I don’t understand the exact meaning of each word. However, I just read it, speak it and listen to it. I feel I’m falling in love with it crazily.

I’m an energetic boy too. I like sports with all my heart. I like basketball, football, tennis, swimming and jogging. But I like basketball the most. I admire the NBA basketball all-star Kobe Bryant. I like his beautiful shooting gesture and his aggressive attacking attitude. I still remember the miracle he made that he scored 81 points in a single game in the modern NBA game. Although the Los Angles Lakers was defeated in the play-offs this year with pheniox Suns, I believe that the next year, both Kobe and the Lakers will be back for the championship. I have played basketball since the grade one in middle school. At that time, we knew nothing about how to shoot, how to get the rebound. We just played it and had fun from it. Through basketball, I knew many people and made friends with them. This is why I like basketball. Basketball also shortens the distance between people and helps us get to know each other. We play it in the sun, in the rain, and no matter what may stop us. I enjoy the time when after playing basketball the whole afternoon, we sat in a round, drinking a bottle of cola and having a wonderful chatting and a loud laughter.

Self Introduction

I’m … coming from Wuhan. In 2004 I was admitted by Hubei University of Technology to pursue a bachelor degree in Economics. My major is marketing. I like my major very much because I like to communicate with others. We have learned a lot compulsory courses relevant to our major such as marketing, macroeconomics, microeconomics, statistics, accounting, money and banking, organizational behavior, financial management, business communication skills and computer applications etc. I’m especially fond of the communication skills which enables me to deal with people and things around well. Apart from obtaining specialized knowledge, I also choose some optional courses such as mass medium, public relationship, social psychology and music. These courses help to enrich my knowledge, cultivate my integrated abilities, widen my horizon and teach me how to cooperate with others.

For my part, learning these courses is far from being enough. It also needs some practical working experience. Therefore, I find some part-time job to apply the theoretical knowledge I get at the university to practice. From my experience of selling drinks, I think it takes skills to sell products. Firstly, we should have a clear idea about the products we want to sell. Secondly, we should find out what kind of people is likely to be our customers, that is what we say, target audience. Thirdly, we should be eloquent and communicative so that we can persuade them into buying our products. I think this working experience is beneficial to understanding marketing and I also find that theory and practice can’t be separated apart.

From this working experience, I find marketing requires strong communicative skills, because we must sell the products to people, and during this process communication is very important. Thus I participate in many associations and activities. As the monitor of our class, I successfully organized many activities, such as the recent spring outing. We took a barbecue in the Forest park, and before that we had done quite a lot of preparation such as buying food from supermarket. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery and delicious food. We also invited some teachers to join us. All of us had a good time. It was really an unforgettable experience.

I am a girl with double personality. On the one hand, I’m an extroverted and open-minded girl full of passion. I have a wide range of interests. I like dancing, singing, running and playing tennis. On the other hand, I like to be quiet reading books and listening to melodious music. I always approach things very enthusiastically. When I begin something don’t like to leave it halfway. Generally speaking, I am a hard working student especially do the thing I am interested in. I will try my best to finish it no matter how difficult it is. English is my favorite. But at the beginning, my oral English is very poor. I read English loudly each early morning no matter the whether is good or not and I also go to English corner to talk with others on every Thursday. At the end of this term, many students and my English teacher all find my great progress. Besides, I have also passed CET4 with ease.

Finally, I think I have learnt a lot in the two years’ college life. And I will strive to be a creative and independent person.

Self Introduction for an Interview

Good morning. I am glad to be here for your interview.

My name is … and I major in economy, which is part of the school of business and law at my university. I mainly study the international trade as it relates to imports and exports with foreign countries.

I am a junior now and in the past two years I have learnt a lot about my specialty. As international trade requires extensive knowledge about society and economy, I have studied microeconomics & macroeconomics, the theory of international trade, international trade practices, management, accounting, cameralistics, money and banking, financial management. Besides, I ‘ve got some basic knowledge about maths which includes calculus, linear algebra, probability theory, statistic. English is absolutely essential so I put a lot of effort into learning English and I successfully passed the CET-4 and CET-6. I am so interested in my study that I usually go to the library to read more books to broaden my horizon. Recently, I find behavior economy is fascinating and promising and I determine to choose this as my major when I am enrolled in graduate school.

Being a university student, I find myself more and more self-dependent and my ability of study has been improved. Now I am keen enough to get the keystone of each class, and due to the help of my teachers I become more and more confident.

I am a person with great perseverance, generally speaking, I am a hard working student especially when I do something I am interested in, I will try my best to finish it no matter how difficult it is. Take English for example, when I want to express my ideas by a foreign language without finding a right way, I am really upset. Then I tried to encourage myself, and after a long term of bitterness, suddenly I find I get the right way with joy.

I am very active in school activities and social activities. My unceasing optimism, self-determination and ability to set goals, my aspiration, tenacity, and sensibility have allowed me to balance activities and study, and these will also help in my future.

Although these courses are not easy, I always try my best to accomplish the assignments and to find out the study method which suits me the most.

When I was a small child, I wished that I would become a scientist. Now I find it is very difficult. However, I believe where there is a will, there is a way.

Two years ago, I was admitted to the school of Art & Design in Hubei University of Technology. I think that is my greatest achievement so far. My major is Art Design. Since I had never learned this before, it was a little difficult for me. At the beginning, things seemed terrible. I found I couldn’t produce what I really wanted to draw. I came across many difficulties. Although I am a hard-working student and I usually try my best to accomplish the work no matter how difficult it is, believe it or not, I wanted to give it up once a while. However, after I mastered many techniques and skills of drawing and design, I began to enjoy my work. I’ll never forget many nights when I stayed up to finish the work. Neither will I forget many times I took my big drawing boards leaving one classroom for another.

I enjoy my colorful days with my roommates on campus. We play games, sing and talk at the top of our voice. I like reading, listening to music, traveling and exchanging ideas with others on-line.

I have got a lot of experiences different from those in my senior middle school. They are amazing and memorable. They become part of my life.

After graduation, I want to be a designer. I hope that people will like my design and enjoy it.
